Lapis LazuliLapis lazuli is not a mineral but stone which is a complex mixture of other minerals including lazurite and sodalite which helps to give it it’s rich blue colour. The name comes from lapis which is the Latin word for stone and azul which is the Arabic name for blue.Lapis lazuli was highly prized in Babylonia and Egypt where it was often worn by royalty. It is believed to be related to spiritual and emotional cleansing , also in lore, it is believed to protect the wearer from evil.
